Khaberni - Abdullah Al-Rajhi, the official spokesperson for the General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Kuwait, stated that Kuwait International Airport has resumed landing and take-off operations following the stabilization and improvement of the weather conditions in the country.
Al-Rajhi explained that the operational situation at the airport is currently stable, and flights are proceeding according to the usual schedules in coordination with airlines and relevant authorities.
He affirmed that the General Directorate of Civil Aviation continuously monitors the weather conditions with the relevant authorities to ensure the smooth flow of air traffic and the safety of operations, praising the efforts of the airport work teams and the great cooperation from airlines and travelers during the temporary diversion of flights.
Al-Rajhi announced that since 2 AM today, Kuwait International Airport experienced dense fog and visibility dropped to less than 100 meters, affecting the safety of flights in taking off and landing at Kuwait International Airport, which led to the diversion of several incoming flights to airports in neighboring countries.
Al-Rajhi clarified that the safety of passengers and aircraft is a top priority for the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, where all necessary operational measures are taken in coordination with the relevant authorities and airlines to ensure the highest standards of aerial safety.
He confirmed that flights would gradually resume to Kuwait International Airport once the weather improves and visibility clears, pointing out that the administration is closely monitoring the weather conditions, and any updates will be announced through official channels.
