Amman Chamber of Commerce issues 34688 certificates of origin in 10 months

Khaberni - The number of certificates of origin issued by the Amman Chamber of Commerce during the past ten months of the current year increased by 3.2 percent to export goods and commodities to Arab and foreign countries, compared to the same period last year.
According to statistical data from the chamber, the number of certificates of origin issued by Amman Commerce increased to 34,688 during the same period, compared to 33,615 for the same period last year.
The data shows that the value of certificates of origin issued by the chamber during the same period decreased by 6.5 percent to 1.099 billion dinars, compared to 1.176 billion dinars for the same period last year.
It indicated that Iraq topped the list of countries most importing from the kingdom in terms of the value of certificates of origin during the same period, with a value of about 484 million dinars, with 2,902 certificates followed by Saudi Arabia with 93 million for 8,576 certificates.
Egypt followed with a value of 78 million dinars for 859 certificates, then the United Arab Emirates with a value of 69 million dinars for 3,630 certificates, then Syria with a value of 67 million for 2,962 certificates. This group of countries is among the top five in terms of number and value.
In terms of types of products, the value of exports during the same period from foreign products (goods of foreign origin) amounted to about 553 million dinars, industrial products 199 million dinars, agricultural products 157 million dinars, and Arab goods (goods of Arab origin) about 95 million, and the rest went to other products.
It is noted that a certificate of origin is a document used in international trade to certify that the goods in a particular shipment have been produced, manufactured, or processed in a specific country and is used by customs to determine the eligibility of goods to determine their tariff and to verify the country of origin of those goods.
It is noted that the Amman Chamber of Commerce issues certificates of origin for Jordanian agricultural and animal products, raw natural resources, and for foreign goods that are re-exported and for foreign goods purchased from the local market under specific conditions.
It also issues certificates of origin for Jordanian industrial products according to the exporter's request, based on the original factory invoice certified by an industrial chamber and an original and properly certified certificate of origin issued by an industrial chamber proving that the merchandise is of Jordanian origin, according to the provisions of Article (29) of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce System No. (45) for the year 2009 and the instructions for issuing certificates of origin for the year 2013.
