Khaberni - OpenAI is facing 7 lawsuits claiming its service "ChatGPT" drove individuals to suicide and harmful delusions, even when they had no prior mental health problems.

The lawsuits, filed last Thursday in California courts, accuse the company of wrongful death, aiding in suicide, manslaughter, and negligence.

The lawsuits have been filed on behalf of 6 adults and one teenager by the Legal Center for Social Media Victims and the Technology Justice Project.

The suits allege that OpenAI deliberately released the "GPT-40" model early, despite internal warnings that it was dangerously psychologically manipulative, and that four of the victims died by suicide.
