Egyptians Respond to Bullies with the Galabeya Trend

Khaberni - In the past few hours, through social media and Egyptian pages, a new trend named "Galabeya Trend" has emerged and has become the talk of the town.

"An ancient Egyptian attire thousands of years old"
Bloggers have turned to sharing photos of themselves wearing the (galabeya) in solidarity with the traditional Egyptian attire, especially after bullying remarks targeting a man seen wearing a "galabeya" in the Grand Egyptian Museum sparked significant outrage.

Those sharing the photos consider the "galabeya" to be a famous Egyptian attire, thousands of years old and see no justification for mocking it.

This came after the Grand Egyptian Museum extended its operational hours on Saturdays and Wednesdays, due to the high demand from Egyptian, Arab, and foreign visitors.

The authority announced on Saturday, extending the visiting hours on Saturdays and Wednesdays until 9 PM instead of 6 PM, to allow more time for visitors to view the artifacts, with visiting hours on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9 AM to 6 PM, and the last ticket sold at 5 PM.

On Saturdays and Wednesdays, the visits are from 9 AM to 9 PM, with the last ticket sold at 8 PM.

This followed electronic booking results showing maximum visitation limits were reached and slots were sold out, with the museum reaching full operational capacity on Saturday, due to overwhelming demand.
