Khaberni - Former U.S. President Joe Biden launched a scathing attack on his successor Donald Trump, stating that the current president did more than just take a "wrecking ball" to the East Wing of the White House, but also to American democracy itself.
CNN quoted Biden as saying during a Democratic Party event in Nebraska on Friday evening, "I knew Trump would take a 'wrecking ball' to the country, but I must admit, I didn't realize there was actually a real wrecking ball."
Biden was referring to the demolition Trump is undertaking in part of the White House, which he plans to turn into a ballroom. Trump had previously stated that his plans for the hall "would not affect the existing building."
Biden said, "It is a perfect symbol of his presidency. Trump took a wrecking ball, not just to the People's House, but to the Constitution, the rule of law, and to our very democracy itself."
During his speech, Biden addressed Trump directly, saying that the current president "brought disgrace" to the country with his conduct, and prioritized the interests of the wealthy over those of ordinary Americans.
Biden described the Democrats' victories in the gubernatorial elections of New Jersey and Virginia, and last week's New York City mayoral election, as "bright spots in a very dark moment," according to media reports, adding that the American people sent a message to Trump through these results.
It is worth noting that Biden has rarely appeared publicly since leaving office in January (January), and had intended to run again against Trump, but withdrew after a disastrous debate and under pressure from Democratic Party leaders and others, allowing the former Vice President Kamala Harris to run in his place.
In May (May), it was revealed that Biden has prostate cancer.
