Khaberni - Today, Saturday, Lebanese Forces Party leader Samir Geagea addressed a message to "Hezbollah" in light of the crisis the country is undergoing.
Geagea said during the annual dinner for "Zahle Coordination," addressing "Hezbollah": "You cannot say 'I want to cling to the option of resistance.' You can't cling to an option, or else 'the country is lost,' and there is no term in the Constitution for 'the three presidents'."
He added: "You claim that you have fully complied with the ceasefire agreement in place for almost a year, which is clearly a mistake. The implication of that agreement is that your military and security organizations should be dissolved and their weapons handed over to the state. What have you achieved from that?"
He continued: "Some will raise the argument of Israel and the Jews, true, true, but the starting point should be what we need to do ourselves. You were supposed to dissolve yourself militarily and security-wise, and you did not."
Geagea pointed out that "this week witnessed a message directed by 'Hezbollah' to 'the three presidents,' sorry that this term remains."
He added: "In the Constitution we have a Republic President, a Prime Minister and government, and a Parliament with its President; there is no 'three presidents.' But unfortunately, they said 'Antar, who recognizes you?' He replied: 'I challenged, and no one responded back to me.' Perhaps today someone will."
He continued: "You claim that, under American and Israeli pressures, we demand the dissolution of the resistance. This is not true, we, before the Americans, the Arabs, the West, and the Israelis, want a real state, and a state can only be actual if arms are collected under its control and the peace and war decision is confined to it."
Earlier, "Hezbollah" had sent an open letter to the three presidents, Joseph Aoun, Nabih Berri, and Nawaf Salam, and to all Lebanese, emphasizing its commitment to national reconciliation, sovereignty protection, and maintaining security and stability in the country.
The party confirmed in its message that its stance comes as "a contribution to strengthening the unified Lebanese stance in facing the Zionist aggression and its ongoing violations of the ceasefire declaration, which was reached through mediation by the American envoy Amos Hochstein, after indirect negotiations between Lebanon and the Zionist entity."
Hezbollah concluded by emphasizing that the current phase requires uniting efforts to stop the violations and aggressions by the Zionists, addressing security and existential threats to Lebanon, praising the enduring and brave people suffering injustice and aggression, vowing to remain in the position of honor, dignity, and right, defending the land and the people, achieving the hopes of future generations, and securing their future.
