Minya governorate witnessed a security alert on Saturday, coinciding with the arrival of the accused "Hajar," known in the media as the "killer of the Delga family," to the criminal court to attend the verdict announcement session in the case that shook the Egyptian public opinion in recent months.
The accused arrived on a special mission under tight security, where she was transferred from her detention in an armored police vehicle equipped with forces, amid intensive security deployment around the court, before she was allowed to enter the courtroom carrying her infant daughter, who is only a month and a half old.
The session is chaired by Counselor Alaa El Din Mohamed Abbas, with members Counselors Hussein Nejida and Ahmed Mohamed Nasr, in case number 13282 for the year 2025 criminal, Deir Mawas, and registered under number 2579 for the year 2025, total south Minya. This comes after the court had decided in the previous session to refer the accused's papers to the esteemed Mufti to consider imposing the death penalty on her.
The details of the incident date back to last year, when investigations revealed that the accused committed a horrific crime by killing her husband and their six children inside their home in Delga village, affiliated with Deir Mawas center, in an incident described as one of the most heinous family crimes in recent years.
The vicinity of the court witnessed a large number of locals and followers attending the session, at a time when there is a state of anticipation for the final verdict, which is expected to put an end to a case that has sparked a wide controversy and massive outrage on social media, due to its tragic and painful details.
