Khaberni - Tehran sent a message to the United Nations Security Council, condemning the acknowledgment by U.S. President Donald Trump of his country’s role in the Israeli attacks on Iran that initiated the 12-day war between the countries in last June.
In the message published by the Iranian news agency "ISNA", Tehran's permanent Ambassador and representative to the United Nations, Amir Eirwani, stated that "the United States and Israel are fully and jointly responsible for their aggression and its consequences on Iran."
Eirwani referred to "the recent statements by the President of the United States, who openly and explicitly admitted to leading and being responsible for the aggressive acts that lasted for 12 days, and the war of Israel against Iran, during the period from June 13 to June 24, 2025."
The Iranian message referred to Trump's statement to journalists, on Thursday, in which he said, "The initial attack was carried out by Israel. It was a very very strong attack and I personally led it."
Trump added: "When Israel launched the first attack against Iran, it was a great day for the Israelis, as the attack resulted in losses exceeding the total of all other attacks combined."
The message from Tehran stated that "these statements are a clear and undeniable proof of direct participation, leadership, and responsibility of the United States in planning, directing, and facilitating the unlawful military aggression of Israel.
Eirwani considered that "this criminal aggression, which is a blatant and severe violation of paragraph 4 of Article 2 of the United Nations Charter, the peremptory norms that prohibit the threat or use of force against independent states, and international humanitarian law, led to numerous civilian casualties, the destruction of civilian infrastructure, and significant damage to peaceful nuclear facilities under Iranian safeguards."
The Iranian diplomat said, "Trump’s explicit acknowledgment regarding the leadership role and direct participation of his country in the militant Zionist entity's aggression against Iran from day one, clearly and unambiguously reveals the invalidity of the previous statements by the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on June 13, 2025, where he deceitfully claimed: We have no involvement in the attacks against Iran, and our main priority is the security of U.S. forces in the region."
He also mentioned that "this matter reaffirms Iran's inherent and sovereign right to pursue all available international legal avenues to ensure full accountability of the United States and its officials, and the claim for full compensation for the victims, the injured, and all losses and damages incurred to Iran and its people."
It is noted that the United States bombed 3 Iranian nuclear sites on the last days of the war.
