Khaberni - The Public Security Directorate, represented by the Residence and Borders Department, calls upon citizens to adhere to reporting the stay or departure of any foreigner within 48 hours of their arrival or departure, to avoid the prescribed fine of 200 dinars, in accordance with the recent amendments to the Residence and Foreign Affairs Law.
The Directorate confirmed in a statement today, Saturday, that Article (14) of the Residence and Foreign Affairs Law No. (24) of 1973, obliges hotel and lodge managers, and anyone who shelters, accommodates, or rents a premises to foreigners, to report to the Residence and Borders Department, or one of its branches, or the police station in their area, including the foreigner’s name and address, within 48 hours of their arrival or departure.
The Directorate emphasized that adherence to this procedure reflects awareness and responsibility, and contributes to the enforcement of the law and the preservation of community security, affirming that "the initiative protects you, and adherence is a responsibility."
