Khaberni - Exports from the Amman Chamber of Commerce broke the 6 billion dinar barrier during the first 10 months of the current year, with a growth rate of 13.2 percent, which underscores the high quality and competitiveness of Jordanian industry and its presence in foreign markets.
Statistical data from the Amman industry, obtained by the Jordanian News Agency (Petra), show that exports from the chamber, according to the issued certificates of origin, from the beginning of the current year to the end of October, reached 6.196 billion dinars, compared to 5.473 billion dinars for the same period in 2024.
Eight sub-sectors recorded an increase in their exports during the past ten months of the year, with rates ranging from 66.3 percent for construction industries, to 2.5 percent for plastic and rubber industries.
Conversely, exports from two sub-sectors decreased: the wood and furniture industries by 10.8 percent and packaging, paper, carton, and office supplies by a slight 0.4 percent.
Four Arab and foreign countries accounted for more than half of the chamber's exports during the past ten months of the current year. They are: India, the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq, registering a total of 3.521 billion dinars, compared to 3.355 billion dinars for the same period last year.
Exports from the chamber to India during the past ten months of the current year increased by 24.8 percent to about 975 million dinars, compared to 780 million dinars for the same period last year.
Statistical data also show that exports from the chamber to Saudi Arabia during the past ten months of the current year increased by 7.4 percent, reaching 703 million dinars, compared to 653 million dinars for the same period last year.
Conversely, exports from the chamber to Iraq during the past ten months of the current year decreased by 1.5 percent, down to 791 million dinars, compared to 803 million dinars for the same period last year.
However, exports from the chamber to the United States during the past ten months of the current year decreased by 6 percent, recording 1.052 billion dinars, compared to 1.119 billion dinars for the same period last year, though it remained at the forefront of Arab and foreign countries receiving the most exports from Amman industry.
Statistical data showed that exports from Amman industry to Syria during the past ten months of the current year increased by 302 percent, reaching 226 million dinars compared to 56 million dinars for the same period last year.
According to the geographical distribution of the chamber's exports during the past ten months of the year 2025, Arab countries came in the lead with a value of 2.871 billion dinars, non-Arab Asian countries 1.394 billion dinars, and North American countries about 1.093 billion dinars.
Exports from Amman industry to European Union countries during the past ten months of the current year amounted to 431 million dinars, non-EU European countries 202 million dinars, African countries about 102 million dinars, South American countries 65 million dinars, and other countries 39 million dinars.
Exports from the chamber during the past ten months of the current year were distributed among the mining industries sector worth 1.456 billion dinars, chemical and cosmetic products 1.095 billion dinars, and engineering, electrical, and information technology industries about 1.046 billion dinars.
Exports of the food, agricultural, and animal resource industries sector, during the past ten months of the current year, amounted to 811 million dinars, medicinal supplies and medical equipment 610 million dinars, and leather and knitwear 516 million dinars.
The rest of the chamber's exports during the past ten months of the current year were distributed among the packing, paper, carton, and office supplies industries sector valued at about 288 million dinars, the plastic and rubber industries 263 million dinars, the construction industries around 156 million dinars, and finally the wood and furniture industries valued at 16 million dinars.
It is worth noting that the Amman Chamber of Industry, established in 1962 and currently having a membership of 8600 industrial establishments, employs 159,000 workers with a capital reaching about 5 billion dinars.
