Khaberni - Media reports indicate that the Premier League is preparing to make major changes to the video assistant referee system, in a step aimed at improving decision accuracy and reducing the refereeing controversy that has increased in recent seasons.

According to British media, the new proposal is based on establishing a unified refereeing team, where the main referee on the field works alongside the same team responsible for the video technology throughout the season, instead of the continual rotation of referees each round.

It indicated that the idea came after repeated complaints from clubs and coaches due to the variability of decisions made by VAR, and the differences in the application of technology from one match to another, which was considered a direct result of changing the personnel in the control room.

This change aims to enhance the harmony between the field referee and the video team, increase the speed and accuracy of decision-making, in addition to reducing the errors that have caused much controversy in the Premier League.

The relevant entities within the English Football Association are expected to discuss this proposal in the coming period, in preparation for its official adoption starting from the next season, if it receives final approval from the clubs and the referee's association.
