Report IsraeliMoroccan Talks to Resume Flights Between Them

Khaberni - Israel and Morocco have resumed talks in recent months regarding the possibility of renewing direct flights between them, which were halted since the onset of the war on Gaza on October 7, 2023.

The discussions between the two countries are taking place at the level of security and transportation entities, and they are looking into reactivating the direct flight line that previously had high demand and near-full bookings; as reported by Israeli Channel 12 this Friday evening.

The direct flights had stopped between the countries after the Israeli National Security Council announced an increase in the travel warning level to Morocco to level 3, due to concerns about the presence of hostile elements and tensions on its territory, forcing Israeli and Moroccan airlines to halt their flights.

Although the Israeli National Security Council still advises against non-essential travel to Morocco, sources involved in the talks between the countries estimate that the issue of reducing the warning level will be discussed later, a step that would allow for the resumption of tourist and commercial movement.

The Israeli Minister of Transportation and senior officials in her office agreed with their Moroccan counterparts, on the readiness of both parties to resume flights soon.

It is likely that direct flights between Morocco and Israel will resume in the coming months, barring any additional delays.
