Khaberni - An Arab player has entered the nominations list for "The Best" awards presented by the International Football Federation "FIFA", which were announced on Thursday evening.

Egyptian national team and Masar club goalkeeper, Habiba Sabri, has been nominated to join the "FIFA 2025" squad.

The Egyptian goalkeeper appears on a list including 11 candidates for the world's best goalkeeper award, alongside big names like Kata Kul (Barcelona and Spain) and Hanna Hampton (Chelsea and England).

Habiba Sabri has become the first Egyptian goalkeeper to receive this honor, in an unprecedented achievement for women's football in Egypt.

Habiba was born in Suez governorate, Egypt, is 19 years old, and currently plays for Masar club, which she has led to win the Egyptian women's league title in the past two seasons.

Habiba started her career at one of the football academies, moving between Al-Nubia team, and the Suez national team, with which she advanced to the Egyptian Premier League, before joining Masar.

Habiba set a record in the Egyptian Premier League for women by keeping clean sheets in 21 out of 28 matches during the 2023-2024 season, according to Egyptian press reports.

Habiba also contributed to her team's bronze medal win in the 2024 African Champions League after defeating Edo Queens of Nigeria in penalty shootouts, subsequently earning the best goalkeeper award in that tournament.

Habiba had previously been nominated for the Best Young Player in Africa Award 2024, and continues to compete for the same award this year.
