Khaberni - In a tragic incident, an entire family perished in Shubra Al Khaimah, Egypt, after a mobile phone charger caused a large fire inside the apartment they lived in.
The fire started in the kitchen and quickly spread to other areas of the apartment, as dense smoke caused the suffocation of all six family members, including children.
The authorities were alerted by the neighbors last Thursday about a major fire in the Beigam area of Shubra Al Khaimah district. Upon arrival, civil defense and security personnel managed to control the fire and discovered that all family members, consisting of a mother, her sister, and her four children, had died.

Witnesses confirmed that controlling the fire was difficult, as the flames consumed the apartment within minutes. The presence of an iron door in front of the apartment door delayed neighbors' entry to save the children, and upon their entrance, they were shocked to find 5 charred bodies.
An eyewitness also mentioned that a child with disabilities was crying inside the apartment, and despite the flames not reaching him, he died from smoke inhalation, according to local media reports.
Preliminary investigations revealed that an electric short due to a phone charger resulted in the family's death.
