Khaberni - The United Nations Office for Human Rights said that settler attacks in the West Bank are ongoing, calling for accountability of the settlers and members of the Israeli security forces involved in these attacks.
Office spokesperson Thamin Al-Khaytan explained during a press conference in Geneva that the Office of Human Rights confirmed the martyrdom of 1010 Palestinians between October 7, 2023, and November 5, 2025, including 215 children, by the Israeli security forces and settlers.
He noted the increase in attacks, especially during the olive harvest season, with 757 attacks recorded in the first half of 2025, a 13% increase compared to the same period last year.
Al-Khaytan referenced the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice, which affirmed the illegality of Israel's presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, emphasizing the importance of respecting the rights of Palestinians to self-determination during any future peace process.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that 42 Palestinian children were martyred by Israeli forces in the West Bank in 2025, equivalent to one in five Palestinians martyred that year.
The office also recorded 264 settler attacks last month, resulting in casualties or property damage, the highest number of attacks in two decades.
The office noted that more than 3200 Palestinians have been displaced due to settler violence and access restrictions since October 2023.
These attacks have led to the evacuation of entire pastoral communities, in addition to the martyrdom of many Palestinians and the injury of hundreds, including by live fire.
The United Nations Office for Human Rights has called for an immediate halt to the collective demolition orders issued on October 28, 2023, targeting 11 homes and community infrastructure in the Bedouin gathering of Umm al-Khair in the southern Hebron hills.
He explained that these orders threaten to displace 35 Palestinian families from the area, who have lived there since being expelled from their lands in the Negev during the Nakba of 1948.
The office explained that the Israeli occupation authorities impose discriminatory land regulation rules in the area, where settlers are allowed to expand settlements and build new outposts, while Palestinians are forced to leave.
He mentioned that settlers established an outpost in Umm Al-Khair in September 2023, intensifying their harassment of the Palestinian residents.
Ajeeth Sungai, director of the Office of Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, said, "The situation in Umm al-Khair represents a model of Israeli steps to annex the West Bank, especially area (C), in violation of international law."
He added that time is running out, urging the international community to put pressure to protect the residents of Umm al-Khair from forced displacement and to stop any further violence or deprivation of their property.
