Khaberni - The Israeli occupation, on Friday, demolished homes in Khan Yunis, and announced its intent to destroy all tunnels in the Gaza Strip despite the ceasefire in effect since October 10th last year.
Palestinian sources reported that the occupation is "carrying out house demolitions amid artillery shelling on the eastern areas of Khan Yunis in the southern Strip."
In his part, Israeli Defense Minister Yisrael Katz, on Friday, said he had instructed the army to destroy all tunnels in the Gaza Strip.
Katz added - in a post on the X platform - that he ordered the destruction of the tunnels up to the last one. He continued, "If there are no tunnels, there will be no Hamas."
The Israeli minister did not clarify the areas where tunnels are spread which will be included in the destruction operations, nor the timetable for implementing the decision.
Katz's instructions come as Israel continues to violate the ceasefire, by conducting bombing and demolition in areas east of the Yellow Line.
Areas of Control
The Israeli army continues to control more than half of the area of the Gaza Strip, after its withdrawal to what is known as the Yellow Line under the ceasefire agreement.
The Yellow Line mentioned in the agreement separates the areas controlled by the Israeli army on the eastern side, and the areas where Palestinians are allowed to move within on the western side.
The Israeli army has violated the agreement dozens of times, targeting Palestinians west of the Yellow Line with bombing and gunfire, resulting in hundreds of martyrs and wounded.
The ceasefire agreement ended a genocide that Israel began committing on October 8, 2023, which lasted two years, left more than 68,000 dead and more than 170,000 wounded, and caused destruction affecting nearly 90% of the civil infrastructure in the Strip.
