Aoun What Israel did in South Lebanon is a complete crime

Khaberni - Lebanese President Jouzaf Aoun said that what Israel did today in South Lebanon constitutes a fully constituted crime, not only according to the provisions of international humanitarian law which criminalizes targeting civilians, terrorizing them, and forcing them to flee their homes, but it is also considered a heinous political crime.

He added that the more Lebanon expresses its openness to a peaceful negotiation approach to resolve outstanding issues with Israel, the more Israel insists on its aggression on Lebanese sovereignty and boasts about its disregard for Security Council Resolution No. 1701, continuing to breach its commitments under the ceasefire understanding."

He continued: "Nearly a year has passed since the ceasefire came into effect. During that period, Israel spared no effort to demonstrate its rejection of any negotiated settlement between the two countries… Your message has been received."

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Thursday that one person was martyred and eight others were injured in wounds, due to the Israeli aggression on the town of Tura in the Sur district, concurrent with the flight of Israeli warplanes at very low altitude over the skies of Beirut and reaching the southern suburbs, as reported by the Lebanese news agency.

The agency earlier reported that Israeli drone and reconnaissance planes intensively flew over several villages in the Sur district.
