Khaberni - In an unexpected move, it seems that Apple has not yet closed the file on its slim phone "iPhone Air", despite the limited sales achieved by the first generation.
According to new leaks published by the famous tech blogger Digital Chat Station, the company is currently working on developing the second generation of the phone, which is tentatively known as "iPhone 18 Air", with significant improvements in design, camera, and overall performance.
Ultra-slim design and more advanced screen
The leaks suggest that Apple is committed to the slender identity of the "iPhone Air", as the new version will come with a design that is lighter and more elegant than its predecessor, while maintaining the streamlined lines that characterize the series.
The phone will also feature a 6.5-inch screen supporting a high refresh rate, in addition to 3D Face ID technology, which enhances the daily usage experience and provides smoother visual performance.
It is expected that the company will retain the horizontal strip for the rear camera, which has become a distinctive mark in the design of the "iPhone Air", with minor modifications that give it a more modern appearance.
One of the most anticipated changes in "iPhone Air 2" relates to the camera. After the first generation had only one lens, Apple has finally decided to move to a dual rear camera system, as mentioned by Digital Chat Station.
The new system includes a main sensor with a resolution of 48 megapixels and an ultra-wide lens with the same resolution, in a major upgrade aimed at improving image quality and expanding the range of professional photography in slim phones.
Apple is concurrently working on developing the A20 and A20 Pro processors dedicated for the upcoming "iPhone 18" series.
The leaks suggest that "iPhone Air 2" will get the stronger A20 Pro version, which means faster performance and higher efficiency in energy consumption, especially with complex tasks such as high-resolution photography and running advanced applications.
iPhone Air 2 Launch Date
According to circulating information, Apple plans to unveil the "iPhone Air 2" as part of its phone lineup for 2026, alongside iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the company's first foldable phone.
On the other hand, other models such as iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are likely to be launched at the beginning of 2027, within a comprehensive plan to diversify the company’s smartphone production lines.
