Khaberni - The Staff Club at Petra University organized an informative dialogue session titled “Rights and Insurance Benefits in Social Security Law", attended by the deans of the colleges, directors of departments and scientific centers, and a large gathering of faculty, administrative staff, and university students. The university president, Professor Dr. Rami Abdel Rahim, during the session managed by the president of the Staff Club and the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Eyad Al-Mallah, stated that the university is keen on enhancing awareness among employees through such meetings, expressing his thanks to the Staff Club for organizing the session and providing the opportunity for direct dialogue with national state institutions. On his part, the General Manager of the Social Security Corporation, Dr. Jad Allah Al-Khalaila, expressed his gratitude to the university management and the Staff Club for this informative initiative, stressing the importance of partnership with Petra University in raising awareness among employees and students about the importance of social insurance as the university constitutes a distinguished scientific edifice and prestigious academic environment. Al-Khalaila affirmed that the Social Security Corporation is one of the most important arms of social protection in the kingdom, constituting the main pillar for the social and economic security of citizens, explaining that the institution aims to provide a decent life for employees and retirees through an integrated system of social insurances and services it provides to them. Al-Khalaila reviewed the main insurances applied by the institution, and the legislative development it has witnessed since its establishment in 1978, indicating that the number of insured today exceeds 640,000, in addition to about 431,000 retirees and beneficiaries receiving monthly pensions. He pointed to the corporation’s continuous efforts to include all employees in the kingdom under the umbrella of social protection, as social insurance is a main pillar of social protection, and the institution is moving towards including workers in the informal sector under its umbrella to ensure these workers benefit from the insurance advantages and benefits provided by the Social Security Law, affirming at the same time that the institution is among the first national institutions that underwent an electronic transformation in providing all its services to its audience of individuals and establishments. At the end of the session, Dr. Jad Allah Al-Khalaila and the Assistant General Manager for Insurances, Shaman Al-Majali, answered questions and inquiries from the audience with full transparency and clarity.
