Khaberni - The government has allocated in the public budget bill for next year, 396 million dinars for the implementation of the Economic Modernization Vision programs, which continues to implement its plans since their launch at the end of the year 2022.
The government affirmed in its statement that the economic and financial budget objectives for the next year include implementing the requirements of the Economic Modernization Vision and the strategic projects included in it, considering it as a state plan transcending governments.
The government emphasized its continued implementation of the economic and financial reform program, which enhances financial and economic sustainability.
It highlighted that capital expenditures in next year’s budget bill increased to 1.6 billion dinars to cover the financing of developmental projects of national importance, including the national water carrier project worth 60 million dinars, exploration for Reeshah gas worth 35 million dinars, in addition to raising the support for municipal development and improvement to 210 million dinars instead of 180 million dinars.
The budget bill included groups of support for multiple sectors with a total value of 655 million dinars, including 124 million dinars for cancer insurance allocations, which is a program covering about 4.1 million Jordanian citizens announced by the government this year, and 80 million dinars for supporting gas cylinders after raising it from 63 million dinars, and 280 million dinars for social protection, and 170 million dinars for supporting bread and fodder. Additionally, the allocations for purchasing medicines and medical supplies have been raised to about 135 million dinars.
* Completion of 36.4% of the vision priorities
The Economic Modernization Vision and the public sector modernization roadmap were launched at the end of 2022 under royal sponsorship. The executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision last year included approximately 183 programs, 380 initiatives, and 514 priorities, with an allocation of 670 million dinars in the 2023 budget.
The government allocated about 734 million dinars for the Economic Modernization Vision program for the year 2024, distributed as 349 million dinars within the general budget, 135 million within the budget of governmental units and self-financing, and 250 million dinars within foreign aid, and in the year 2024, the government completed 66 priorities out of 83 that should have been completed, with 17 priorities not achieved.
The government completed 36.4% of the total 641 priorities of the executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision since its implementation at the beginning of 2023, and until the end of the third quarter of the current year.
According to the performance monitoring system's results of the executive program of the Economic Modernization Vision (2023-2025), the government completed 197 priorities by the end of the third quarter of the year 2025, while 301 priorities remain "under implementation" and at a rate of 55.6% of the total priorities.
The performance monitoring system indicated that 38 priorities are still behind in their implementation, which is 7% of the total execution of the priorities, while the number of priorities that have not yet commenced work is 5 priorities on the plan of the program and at a rate of less than 1%.
In detail, the government completed 60 priorities in the high-value industries engine, followed by 45 priorities in the future services engine, then 34 priorities in the entrepreneurship and creativity engine, and 24 priorities in the sustainable resources engine.
Additionally, the government completed 17 priorities in the quality of life engine, 12 priorities in the "Jordan a Global Destination" engine, 15 priorities in the investment engine, and 5 priorities in the "Sustainable Environment" engine.
The priorities under implementation are distributed as; 48 priorities in the quality of life engine, 50 priorities in the entrepreneurship and creativity engine, 75 priorities in the high-value industries engine, and 55 priorities in the sustainable resources engine, 53 priorities in the future services engine, 26 priorities in the "Jordan a Global Destination" engine, 12 priorities in the investment engine, and 27 priorities in the "Sustainable Environment" engine.
As for the delayed priorities, they are distributed into 3 priorities in the quality of life engine, 2 priorities in the entrepreneurship and creativity engine, 13 priorities in the high-value industries engine, one priority for the sustainable resources engine, and 12 priorities in the "Future Services" engine and 7 in the "Jordan a Global Destination" engine, and 3 priorities in the investment engine, and 2 delayed priorities in the "Sustainable Environment" engine. Moreover, 3 priorities in the "Sustainable Resources" engine, and one priority in each of the quality of life engine have not yet started.
