Khaberni - On Wednesday, Hajjah Ruqayya Khushan "Umm Muhammad", the mother of Sheikh Raed Salah, passed away in the city of Umm al-Fahm in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Umm Muhammad suffered from illness in her last years, and also experienced the repeated arrest of her son Sheikh Salah and the oppressions of the occupation on him.
It is noted that Sheikh Raed's father, Salah Sulaiman Abushaqra, died one day after the Sheikh's arrest, on May 14, 2003, at which time he was serving as the president of the Islamic Movement in the occupied territories before it was banned.
