Khaberni - English Chelsea returned to leaking points again in the league stage of the UEFA Champions League football tournament after falling into the trap of a positive 2-2 draw with its host, Qarabag Azerbaijan, on Wednesday, in the fourth round of the competition.

The Brazilian Estevao Willian started the scoring for Chelsea in the 16th minute, but Leandro Andrade quickly equalized for Qarabag in the 29th minute, while his teammate, the Montenegrin Marco Jankovic, added the second goal for the hosts in the 39th minute from a penalty kick.

The excitement continued into the second half, after the Argentine Alejandro Garnacho scored the equalizing goal for Chelsea in the 53rd minute, as both teams tried to snatch the three points during the remaining time of the match but to no avail.

Chelsea opened its campaign in the tournament this season with a 1-3 loss to its host Bayern Munich, before winning 1-0 against its guest Benfica from Portugal, and 5-1 against its guest Ajax Amsterdam from the Netherlands, in the second and third rounds consecutively.

For its part, Qarabag sprung a major surprise in the tournament, after it kickstarted its encounters with a stunning 3-2 victory over its host Benfica in the first round, then defeated its guest Copenhagen from Denmark 2-0, and lost 1-3 to its host Athletic Bilbao from Spain, in the second and third rounds respectively.

With that result, Chelsea's points increased to 7, temporarily placing them tenth until the rest of the matches of that round are concluded, with a goal difference advantage over Qarabag, who are in twelfth place with the same tally of points.
