The memorandum aims to enhance partnership, coordination, and cooperation between the two sides in the field of regional electrification through coordinating efforts, exchanging expertise, technical information, and providing the necessary facilities to implement electric linkage projects between Jordan and Palestine.

It is hoped that the electric linkage projects will contribute to diversifying and enhancing the sources of electric energy supply in both countries and increase the efficiency and reliability of electrical networks in the countries.

It also contributes to the optimal utilization of the available resources on both sides, creating new electric linkage facilities to provide higher capacities to serve the electrical system in both countries, based on the technical studies prepared or that are being prepared on this matter, including the ongoing study by the consulting firm (CESI).

Coordination and cooperation with funding and supporting entities for the project will be conducted, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), and other relevant entities, to provide the necessary technical and financial support for electric linkage projects in addition to enhancing technical, economic, and administrative cooperation between the two sides, achieving the purpose of this memorandum and contributing to increasing the local energy production and reducing its costs, as well as exchanging technical information about the electrical systems in both countries to represent the best linkage scenarios and enhance them where possible.
