Khaberni - The Cabinet has decided in its session held today, Wednesday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaffer Hassan, to approve the joint financing agreement for the water desalination and transfer project from Aqaba to Amman (the National Carrier) between the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan represented by the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation, and a group of donors.
This agreement constitutes a major milestone and the most important part of the financial closure of the project aimed at securing full funding necessary for the implementation of this strategic project, which aims to desalinate and transfer 300 million cubic meters of water annually from Aqaba to Amman and meet the water drinking needs of the population in the Kingdom.
