Khaberni - The General Secretary of the Party Registry at the Independent Election Commission, Ahmed Abu Zaid, reported the receipt of hundreds of party resignations to the Party Registry, indicating that they are individual and not collective resignations.
Abu Zaid confirmed in statements to "Al-Mamlaka" channel on Wednesday, that the commission receives resignations just as it receives membership applications, pointing out that the "basic idea" is the freedom of joining and resigning.
He noted that the commission received a group of resignations amounting to hundreds, explaining that resigning is a fundamental right for any party affiliate, and disclosing the reason for the resignation is not the role of the commission.
Abu Zaid explained that a large number of resignations in a party may lead to an imbalance in the membership ratios stipulated by the party law, which may prompt the commission to stop the financial contribution to the party until its situation is rectified.
