Khaberni - Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, signed a financing agreement worth 75 million euros provided by the German government for the "Modernization for Growth" program.
The agreement was signed on the German side by Senior Manager of Project Portfolio at the German Development Bank, Maike Lersch-Siemros, in the presence of the German Ambassador to Amman, Dr. Bertram von Moltke.
According to a statement from the ministry today, Wednesday, Toukan expressed the Jordanian government's appreciation for the continuous support provided by Germany for developmental priorities in Jordan, indicating that this support will contribute to improving the regulatory environment for the private sector which reflects positively on the competitiveness of the national economy according to the priorities of the economic modernization vision and the public sector modernization roadmap.
For his part, the German Ambassador affirmed his country's commitment to supporting reforms in Jordan, pointing out that Jordan has set ambitious goals to modernize its public sector, and Germany is proud to be among the foremost supporters of this ambition and will begin disbursing the first installment of the funding, "I am pleased that we have achieved this step together, as strengthening the public sector will contribute to building a more resilient economy."
