Khaberni - The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has made tangible progress in the Global Digital Competitiveness Report for 2025 issued by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), moving up from rank 50 in 2024 to rank 44 in 2025 among 69 countries covered in the report, an achievement that reflects the success of national efforts in developing the digital environment and boosting the readiness of the national economy for the future. Meanwhile, Jordan ranked seventh among the seven Arab countries included in the report.
According to the report, Switzerland, the United States, and Singapore occupied the top three ranks in digital competitiveness for 2025, while the United Arab Emirates ranked ninth globally.
The 2025 report also showed an improvement in Jordan's performance across all three indices compared to the 2024 report, with a notable advance in the knowledge axis from rank 57 to 50, and improvement in the technology axis from rank 52 to 51. Additionally, there was a slight progress in the future readiness axis from rank 43 to 42, confirming the balanced progress achieved in various components of digital transformation.
Furthermore, Jordan made notable progress in a number of sub-indicators within the digital competitiveness ranking for 2025, with scientific research legislation ranking 15th globally compared to rank 22 in 2024, and venture capital achieving rank 11 globally after being ranked 14 the previous year.
Jordan also advanced in the telecommunications investment index, which moved to rank 10 globally after having been 20th the previous year, and the business resilience index rose to rank 18 globally compared to rank 20 in 2024, while the government's cybersecurity capability index significantly advanced to rank 11 globally from rank 33 in 2024.
This outstanding performance shows clear progress in the environment for digital legislation, investment, institutional adaptation, and cybersecurity, and underscores the effectiveness of government policies and digital transformation programs being implemented in cooperation with various national entities.
This achievement completes the journey of digital transformation in the kingdom and embodies the national vision aimed at building a competitive and innovative digital economy, enhancing productivity, stimulating investment, and contributing to sustainable development across different sectors.
It is noted that the Global Digital Competitiveness Ranking, issued annually by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), evaluates the performance of countries in the areas of digital transformation and measures their ability to adopt and develop digital technologies that contribute to enhancing innovation and supporting economic growth.
