Khaberni - Today, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, Engineer Yaarub Al-Qudah, received the U.S. Ambassador to Jordan, Jim Holtsnider, in his office and discussed several economic cooperation files between the two countries and mechanisms to enhance them, in the presence of the Ministry's Secretary General Dana Al-Zu'bi.

The discussions focused on the importance of increasing the benefits from the Free Trade Agreement signed between the two countries, which has been in effect for about 25 years, significantly contributing to increasing Jordanian exports to the U.S. market and enhancing the investment attractiveness of the Kingdom in many sectors.

Last year, the volume of Jordanian exports to the U.S. market was 3.12 billion dollars, an increase of 13% over the previous year, while imports of American goods by the Kingdom amounted to 1.88 billion dollars for the same year.

The need for ongoing follow-up to enhance economic cooperation areas between the two countries was discussed, especially commercial opportunities and working to increase the benefits from marketing potential for Jordanian goods in the American market.

Engineer Al-Qudah pointed to the government's work programs to develop the economic situation, particularly the economic modernization vision, and its key objectives within the necessary efforts to achieve development in Jordan.

He expressed the Jordanian government's appreciation for the aid provided by the United States to Jordan, which had a clear impact on the efforts of priority developmental plans and projects, easing the burdens resulting from regional disturbances and global geopolitical conditions, and prior to that the COVID-19 pandemic and its repercussions.
