Khaberni - Four people were taken to the hospital following a fire at a mobility aid facility for the disabled in a residential block managed by the Housing and Development Board in Ang Mo Kio, Singapore, according to the Singaporean newspaper "The Straits Times" today, Wednesday.

About 200 people were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and the Singapore Civil Defence Force posted on Facebook today saying that they received a report about the fire at about 11:15 PM yesterday, Tuesday (local time).
Four individuals were transported to Singapore General Hospital after an assessment of their condition following smoke inhalation, and firefighters were able to extinguish the flames using a water jet.

It is worth mentioning that in August last year, three people were injured and taken to the hospital following a similar fire caused by a personal mobility device in an apartment in the Toa Payoh area, according to international media.

The civil defense forces warned that modified, neglected, or those mobile electrical devices charged with non-original chargers could pose a significant risk of causing fires.
