Khaberni - At least 40 people were killed and others were injured on Wednesday in an attack on a mourning gathering in Al-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan in Sudan, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
The office did not specify who was behind the attack as the fighting intensifies between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces in the cities of Kordofan.
The United Nations warned that "the security situation in the Kordofan region continues to deteriorate."
