When Morals Are Absent the Nation Is Absent
الكاتب: هاني الدباس

Khaberni - Morals are not just a social ornament or a slogan to conceal our inner selves; they are the foundation of human existence and the spirit of nations that rise and fall with them.
When conscience recedes and values are replaced by personal interests, moral corruption begins to infiltrate the details of life, weakening dedication, dimming justice, and dissipating trust among people.
It is the corruption that is not seen with the naked eye, but its devastating effects obscure our vision, in everyday behavior, in dishonest words, and in neglecting what is supposed to be unchangeable.

Despite all the negative phenomena we see, hope remains in those who silently resist our ethical crisis. In a home where parents instill dignity in their children before success, in a teacher who believes education comes before training, in an employee who refuses to compromise their conscience despite temptations, in a journalist who chooses to be a voice of integrity rather than a hired voice, and in an official who understands that their role is a duty, not a privilege. Everyone has a role in raising awareness about this, because morals are not inherited through commandments but acquired through stance and example.

Fighting moral corruption cannot be done by laws alone, for law punishes, but values elevate both the spirit and the society. It is a responsibility that starts with the self and extends to family, school, and society. If the individual is righteous, the society will be righteous, and if a person elevates their conscience, the state aligns; thus, every sincere act, no matter how simple, adds a brick to the wall of national integrity and turns morals into a culture, not an exception.

Nations do not rise by money or power, but by the values instilled in the hearts of their children. When values prevail, justice flourishes, work aligns, and national values elevate. History does not memorialize a nation that lost its conscience, nor does it bring down a civilization that clung to its virtues.

Morals do not drown in the swamps of laxity and decline regardless of how high the level of corruption may rise; they are a light that guides the path no matter how dark it gets, because as it is said, they always float since they are purer than to drown.
