Khaberni - A scene from the thirty-sixth episode of the Turkish series "The Distant City" sparked widespread interaction on social media after the audience noticed a clear directorial error in the scene where the character "Sadaqat" was shot while trying to save "Alya".
At the end of the episode, the events escalated dramatically after "Ajmal" incited the locals and fueled the anger of the villagers, prompting them to attack Alpora's palace.
During the chaos that prevailed, "Sadaqat" tried to protect her son's wife, "Alya", from gunfire, and instead, she was shot in the shoulder in a touching scene that seemed to be a turning point in the story.
However, the audience quickly noticed that the direction of the bullet was illogical, as it appeared to pass beside "Sadaqat" and not directly towards her, making her fall visually unconvincing.
Users on social media circulated clips from the scene in slow motion, pointing out that the directorial mistake weakened the impact of the event despite its dramatic importance.
The controversy increased with the use of slow motion visual effects at the moment of her injury, which many considered to be exaggerated and inconsistent with the realistic nature of the series, leading to a barrage of sarcastic comments such as "we watched a scene from an Indian series," and "The Distant City deserves a higher level of scene execution".
Despite the widespread criticism of the scene, the series continued to top the viewership ratings, while the audience expressed their eagerness to find out the fate of "Sadaqat" in the next episode, and how the events will escalate after "Kaya" also loses his sight.
