Khaberni - Former American President Donald Trump confirmed on his platform "Truth Social" that the electoral setbacks his party suffered in various local elections were due to the government shutdown, which became the longest in history.
The Republican President wrote on his platform justifying the Republican party's loss in local elections, "Trump was not on the ballot, and the government shutdown were the reasons behind the Republicans losing the elections tonight, according to polling experts."
Democrats swept 3 races in the first major American elections since Donald Trump's return to the White House, giving the stricken party significant momentum as it looks forward to the mid-term Congressional elections next year.
In New York City, 34-year-old Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani won the mayoral race, marking an astonishing rise from a relatively unknown state deputy to one of the country’s most famous Democrats.
In Virginia and New Jersey, Democrats Abigail Spanberger and Mikie Sherrill won the gubernatorial elections by a significant margin.
