Due to Lightning StrikesEgypt 3 Killed and One Injured

Khaberni - In the Egyptian capital Cairo, 3 were killed and a woman was seriously injured after they were struck by lightning while present in agricultural fields, due to unstable weather in the Nile Delta.

Security officials said that among the victims were an 11-year-old child and two young men, while a woman with severe burns was transported to the hospital for treatment. The lightning also resulted in the death of an animal, according to local media, which reported that the lightning strikes hit various areas during noon hours, while the victims were engaged in their agricultural work or were near the fields.

In Damanhur, the teaching hospital received the body of a 37-year-old farmer, and a young woman, 27 years old, who suffered burns on her arm and thigh due to the lightning while she was working in an agricultural field. In Itay el-Barud, the body of an 11-year-old child was brought in after being struck by lightning near an agricultural field.
In Kafr el-Dawwar, a 23-year-old young man died while working in a wheat field, where a medical examination confirmed that the death was immediate due to the severity of the shock and high soil moisture.

The Meteorological Authority announced that the north of the Delta has been experiencing a disturbed weather pattern since Monday that includes heavy rains and lightning, due to a cold air current from the northwest.

The Authority warned of the continued weather disturbances in the coming days, urging citizens to be cautious especially in exposed agricultural areas, where the risk of lightning exposure increases by up to 30% during thunderstorms.
