Hamas Agrees to Palestinian Authority Management of Gaza

Khaberni - Senior Hamas leader Moussa Abu Marzouk confirmed on Tuesday that his movement has agreed for a minister from the Palestinian Authority to manage the Gaza Strip, elevating the interests of the Palestinian people.

He clarified that the security force in Gaza would be entirely Palestinian under the leadership of the sector management committee, affirming that the Palestinian parties have agreed on this measure.

Rejection of the American International Force Project
Abu Marzouk, in his interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher, pointed to the difficulty of passing the UN Security Council's project to establish an international force in Gaza according to the American formulation, noting that the intermediaries insisted on any international force being established by a Security Council resolution.

He said: "Neither the United States nor Israel had the desire for the international force to be by a decision of the Security Council, and it is impossible to accept a military force as a substitute for the occupation army in Gaza."

Occupation violations since the ceasefire agreement
Abu Marzouk revealed that Hamas had monitored more than 190 breaches by the Israeli occupation since the ceasefire agreement came into effect on October 11 last year, confirming that the Palestinian people had not yet raised the white flag after two years of genocidal attempts.

He added that the second phase of the agreement, which will discuss the status of arms in the sector, has not yet begun, noting that Israeli pressure on Gaza continues despite the ceasefire.
