Khaberni - Moayed Sha’ban, chair of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, reported that Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out a total of 2350 assaults during the past October, in continuation of the "continuous terrorism series by the occupying state against the Palestinian people, their lands, and properties."
Sha’ban clarified in the Commission's monthly report “Occupation Violations and Colonial Expansion Actions” that the military accounted for 1584 assaults, while settlers carried out 766 assaults, with the total assaults concentrated in the provinces of Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 542 assaults, Nablus with 412 assaults, and Hebron with 401 assaults.
Sha’ban indicated that the assaults varied from direct physical attacks, uprooting of trees, burning of fields, preventing olive pickers from reaching their lands, property seizure, and demolition of homes and agricultural facilities. At the same time, Israeli forces continue to close vast areas of Palestinian land under the pretext of "security," while enabling settlers to expand into these areas.
He mentioned that these escalating violations confirm that what is occurring are not isolated incidents, but rather a systematic methodology aimed at emptying the land of its original owners, and imposing an integrated racist colonial regime.
Attempt to establish 7 new colonial outposts
He noted that settlers attempted to establish 7 new colonial outposts since the beginning of last October, predominantly characterized by agricultural and pastoral nature. These outpost attempts were distributed with 3 in the province of Hebron and 4 In Nablus province. Sha’ban confirmed that the recent escalation of outpost establishment efforts could only be by clear instructions from the political level in the occupation state, aiming to impose new facts on the ground and further fragment Palestinian geography, where settlers undertake changes on the ground and then the official level legalizes and entrenches these changes into well-serviced colonial sites.
Seizure of 245 dunams of Palestinian land
Sha’ban stated that in the past October, Israeli authorities seized a total of 244.816 dunams of Palestinian land through thirteen "military orders" for military purpose use, aiming to create buffer zones around settlements in the provinces of Ramallah and Al-Bireh, Nablus, Qalqilya, Salfit, and Tulkarm, in addition to implementing barbed wire and new colonial roads. Some of these orders allocated declared spaces as state lands, and earlier orders issued in 2005 and 2006 were modified by adding areas to them for the purpose of strict closures of settlements under the guise of buffer zones.
Demolition of 28 facilities and notification of demolition of another 30
He mentioned that the occupation authorities carried out 25 demolition operations affecting 28 facilities, including 15 inhabited houses, 2 uninhabited houses, and 11 agricultural facilities, concentrated in the provinces of Tubas with 7 facilities, Salfit with 4 facilities, and Hebron with 3 facilities demolished.
Sha’ban explained that the occupation authorities distributed 30 notifications for the demolition of Palestinian facilities, continuing the series of constraints on Palestinian building and the natural growth of Palestinian villages and towns, which these days translate heavily into demolition operations. The notifications were concentrated in the province of Hebron with 20 notifications and 8 notifications in Jerusalem, and one notice in each of Bethlehem and Jenin.
Study of 19 structural plans for settlements
Sha’ban added that in the past October, planning authorities in the occupation state studied 19 structural plans for the benefit of West Bank settlements and within the municipal boundaries of the occupation in Jerusalem, with 12 plans for West Bank settlements and 7 plans for settlements within the Jerusalem municipal bounds.
He added that these authorities approved 8 structural plans for West Bank settlements (including the approval of two plans concerning project E1), and deposited 4 other plans, and through this, approved the construction of 3524 new settlement units on an area estimated at 2233.138 dunams.
Meanwhile, the Jerusalem municipal authorities in the occupation approved two plans and submitted for subsequent approval 5 plans pertaining to settlements within the municipal bounds in Jerusalem, involving 1205 settlement units, on an area estimated at 28.549 dunams of Palestinian lands.
