Khaberni - The Jerash Public Works Directorate announced on Tuesday about a partial closure of the road connecting from the Directorate of Tourism to the Al-Qirawan roundabout, starting from 7:00 PM until 7:00 AM, to complete the milling works as part of the road rehabilitation project.
Jerash Public Works Director, Ikhlas Al-Khashashneh, stated that the closure is part of the execution phases of the street paving tender, valued at 209,000 Dinars, lasting for one month, and covering approximately 1100 meters.
Al-Khashashneh added that traffic will be redirected towards the commercial center during the closure period, urging citizens to use alternative routes to maintain public safety, according to Al-Mamlaka.
She explained that the implementation of the tender came under the directives of the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abu Al-Semn, during his last visit to the province, aiming to improve the road that serves visitors of the archaeological site, villages of the province, and the commercial center.
Al-Khashashneh confirmed that coordination had been made with all official entities within the province, including the Administrative Governorate, the Directorate of Public Security, and the Traffic Department, to facilitate work progress and ensure traffic flow.
The project includes milling the existing asphalt mix and repaving with a new basalt mix, in addition to creating a central island and furnishing the road with public safety elements and traffic signs.
