Khaberni - The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Engineer Maher Abu Al-Semen, and the Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Sami Al-Adwan, inspected the current state of the Petra Sports Stadium and ways to address the imbalances in the existing building, which has been closed by the Ministry of Youth since 2021 to ensure public safety.

During a field tour in Petra district, Abu Al-Semen and Al-Adwan, accompanied by the deputy Hussein Kreishan and the governor of Ma'an Khaled Al-Hajjaj, toured the complex's facilities and listened to a detailed explanation about the problems identified and the engineering and technical procedures followed, in addition to the legal measures against the contractor who executed the project.

The ministers directed that the complex remain closed and no sporting events be held there until the issuance of the technical report by the Royal Scientific Society, which is currently studying the structural reality of the sports stadium to provide recommendations regarding it.

Abu Al-Semen and Al-Adwan met with some members of the local community and listened to their main demands and needs in the sectors of roads, construction, and youth, confirming the government's commitment to meeting the needs of citizens according to the available capabilities.

In a related context, Abu Al-Semen and Al-Adwan visited the headquarters of the Petra Region Authority and met with the Chairman of the Commissioners' Council, Dr. Fares Breizat, and several members of the council where they discussed a number of issues related to the Petra district and efforts to enhance its stature as a world heritage site and a tourist destination visited by travelers from various countries around the world.
