Khaberni - A woman in her thirties in Zarqa Governorate died from severe injuries caused by beating and torture by her husband, according to her brother.
Her brother told a local radio station that the incident occurred on the evening of October 7th, when his sister's brother-in-law and his mother brought her to the family home and left her at the door before fleeing.
He added that his sister was immediately transferred to the hospital in a state of nervous shock, where medical staff discovered signs of torture and burns on her body.
He explained that her husband would film her while torturing her and relished inflicting pain on her, using a pin to harm her mouth and tongue and preventing her from eating.
Her brother pointed out that his sister suffered severe convulsions, which necessitated her transfer to a psychiatric hospital, where doctors later confirmed that she had no psychological disorders, but she needed an MRI after suffering a severe blow to the head.
The examinations showed several blows to her head, necessitating her re-admission to Zarqa Hospital, where she stayed awake for two days and filed an official complaint with the Family Protection Department against her husband, who had locked her in the bathroom for two days, deprived her of food, and beat her from head to toe.
Her brother noted that her condition later deteriorated, and she was readmitted to the ICU due to lack of oxygen and blood, before she passed away.
He also mentioned that a specialist doctor confirmed that the woman did not suffer from any psychiatric illness, but had sustained severe neurological injuries due to torture.
He added that the husband owned another phone which he used to film his sister during her torture, and she had not previously complained of any disputes with him, indicating that the suffering was concealed and hidden until the tragic incident occurred.
