Khaberni - Amman Arab University participated in the launch ceremony of a study titled "Enhancing Regulatory Impact Assessment and Documenting Best Practices (RIA)", organized by the Economic and Social Council in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and held under the patronage of the Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan. The ceremony was attended by the Public Sector Development Minister Engineer Badriya Al-Balbeisi on behalf of the Prime Minister, with the presence of numerous ministers, officials, representatives of civil society institutions, and the public and private sectors. Amman Arab University's involvement comes as part of its commitment to enhancing its role in supporting national initiatives and exchanging expertise in innovation fields, contributing to the improvement of institutional performance and achieving sustainable development. Dr. Samer Ayasra, the director of the Center for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation represented the University at the launch.
In her opening speech, Engineer Al-Balbeisi stated that the results and recommendations of the study form a national reference that could be built upon to enhance institutional capacities in data management, analysis, and evaluation. She emphasized reinforcing the culture of evidence- and knowledge-based decision-making. The opening ceremony included a speech by Dr. Musa Shetiwi, the head of the Economic and Social Council, who pointed out the council's pivotal role as a national advisory body to the government and both the legislative and judicial authorities, and as a platform for social dialogue on policies and legislation, reaffirming the council's commitment to continuing supporting the efforts of modernization and development based on a solid scientific methodology driven by evidence and knowledge.
Bashar pointed out that the study aims to establish an organized and effective institutional framework for data collection, localization, and quality assurance to support the processes of regulatory impact assessment and public policy formulation. He recommended enhancing the culture of data quality, integration between systems within institutions, data auditing and review, and exchanging expertise, and cooperation with the General Statistics Department, adopting business intelligence tools and predictive analysis, in addition to periodically updating backup and security systems, and expanding the use of digital platforms to enhance participation and access to different involved groups.
Dr. Ayasra emphasized that Amman Arab University's participation in this event is in the context of enhancing cooperation with institutions supporting innovation, exchanging expertise, and reinforcing the role of universities in supporting the national system of creativity and entrepreneurship.
