Khaberni - The Director of Traffic Management at the General Security Directorate, Brigadier General Raed Al-Assaf, said that the inspection of vehicles within the winter campaign reached 153,000 vehicles from its beginning until Tuesday morning.
Al-Assaf added on Tuesday that the campaign witnessed unprecedented cooperation from the citizens, reflecting their increased traffic awareness and the importance of these campaigns.
He explained that the campaign involves specialized teams from traffic departments and the Royal Environmental Protection Administration, in addition to technical crews from the Maintenance Department at the General Security Directorate.
Al-Assaf added that text messages (SMS) were sent to the owners of the vehicles that were found to have deficiencies, indicating that the owners of these vehicles should review the traffic departments or the licensing administration during official working hours or head to the evening mobile inspection stations, which have been first approved this year, after correcting the faults and deficiencies in their vehicles.
He emphasized that the campaign will not include the impounding of vehicle licenses, but drivers will be provided with notifications to correct mistakes and repair malfunctions.
