Tourism We will continue to develop to ensure Jordan remains among the top tourist destinations

Khaberni - Yazan Al-Khudair, Secretary-General of the Ministry, participated in the Arab Tourism Summit 2025, which was organized by London Arabia in the British capital, London, on Monday evening, on the sidelines of the World Travel Market WTM London 2025 event, which takes place from November 4 to 6.

The opening session of the summit began under the theme "Bridging Global and Regional Tourist Experiences: Building Authentic Connections between Markets, and Cultural Bridges: Tourism as a Gateway of Opportunities between the Middle East and the United Kingdom", chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the British House of Commons, Nusrat Ghani, with the participation of the CEO of “Visit Oman” Shabib Al-Maamari, and the Mayor of Dhofar, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohsen Al-Ghasani.

Al-Khudair said, in his speech at the opening session of the summit attended by the Jordanian Ambassador in London, Manar Al-Dabbas, that the Jordanian tourism sector faced significant challenges during 2024 and 2025 due to regional instability that affected travel patterns to the region, noting that Jordan, as usual, proved its resilience and ability to recover.

He added, "Jordan's participation in international tourism conferences reflects the keenness of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and the Tourism Promotion Authority to enhance the kingdom's position on the regional and global tourism map."

Al-Khudair continued his talk, "The future of tourism in Jordan is promising, and we will continue to develop to ensure the kingdom remains one of the most attractive tourist destinations worldwide, affirming the Ministry's commitment to supporting local communities and enhancing tourism innovation tools as part of the plans for the year 2026."

The speakers during the session discussed the cultural shifts and practices that shape the current trends of the tourism industry, where Al-Khudair highlighted a collection of leading Jordanian tourist experiences and reviewed the kingdom’s future plans to develop the tourism sector, including the launch of a comprehensive tourism application (Super App) that integrates various tourism services within a unified system, and puts local communities at the heart of the tourism experience.

On his part, Al-Maamari spoke about the future plans and programs of the "Visit Oman" authority, aimed at attracting global tourism to the Sultanate, discussing opportunities to enhance cooperation between the Middle East and Britain in various tourism and travel sectors.

At the conclusion of the summit, an award ceremony was held to honor prominent Arab entities in the fields of tourism and hospitality, where the Jordanian Company for Reviving Heritage was recognized for its pioneering role in enriching the Jordanian tourism experience, assisting local communities to face various challenges in the tourism sector, and contributing to providing job opportunities for its residents.

It is worth mentioning that the World Travel Market 2025 in London, held for the thirty-fifth time and gathering more than 4000 exhibitors from over 180 countries, will see the participation of about 45,000 tourism and travel industry leaders worldwide, making the exhibition a global platform for promoting global tourist destinations and enhancing cooperation between ministries, tourism bodies, clients, and travel agents worldwide.
