Khaberni - With rising rates of fatty liver disease due to a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy dietary habits, Dr. Sorab Sinthi, a gastroenterology specialist, emphasized that simple dietary modifications can make a significant difference in supporting liver health.

In a short video posted on Instagram, the doctor, who holds certificates from AIIMS, Harvard, and Stanford, talked about three drinks he recommends to his patients:
 1. Beetroot juice: A natural antioxidant for the liver

Beetroot juice contains betalain compounds that protect liver cells and reduce fat accumulation.
The doctor warned against excessive consumption because of its sugar content, noting that a cup several times a week is sufficient to support liver health.

2. Coffee: Protection against fatty liver and fibrosis

The doctor explained that organic coffee reduces the risk of fatty liver disease and fibrosis, provided it is consumed without sugar, or with natural alternatives like honey, stevia, or monk fruit, while avoiding erythritol.

3. Green tea: Improving liver function and reducing fat

Green tea is rich in the antioxidant EGCG, which has been proven to improve liver enzymes and reduce fat buildup.
It is advised to drink two to three cups a week to support the liver and obtain a moderate dose of caffeine.
Dr. Sorab Sinthi affirmed, "It's not always complex diets or fancy supplements that are the solution; sometimes the simplest daily drinks can make the biggest difference for liver health."
