Khaberni - The Middle East University participated in the "Makers Space Symposium" event organized by the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF), featuring more than (100) entrepreneurial projects, with 4200 representatives from various universities and schools attending.
Representing the university at the symposium was a group of students and members of the Entrepreneurship Club at the Student Affairs Deanship, whose projects garnered significant attention from the attendees and participating entities due to their innovative ideas and forward-thinking visions.
Among the standout projects, information technology students Rabhi Arafat and Abdullah Auratani, under the supervision of faculty member Dr. Ashraf Odeh, presented their distinguished invention, the "Smart Gloves for Sign Language Recognition", which brings a qualitative leap in communication technology for the hearing impaired.
This innovation aims to facilitate communication between people with hearing or speech impairments and the community, using smart gloves that can convert hand signals into understandable digital text.
The project proved its high efficiency through the accuracy of the gloves in capturing the signals and sending them to the computer, where they are immediately converted into written text, making it a promising model for artificial intelligence applications in human service.
Another highlighted project is the "Sumo Robot" by students Rahaf Jafar Al-Sayyed, Farah Nasser Al-Rakibat, and Aya Salah from the Information Technology College, supervised by Professor Ibrahim Bani Sa'id, which demonstrates the students' skills in programming, smart control, and interactive robotics.
Additionally, engineering and design students Faisal Dawood, Youssef Abu Omar, and Quds Abdul Hussein Al-Duwaiv presented the "Home-Made Bio-Diesel Device" supervised by Dr. Mu'tasim Bani Mustafa, an innovation focusing on developing sustainable solutions and environmentally friendly for local biofuel production in a safe and economic way.
