Khaberni - British police today, Monday, charged a 32-year-old man with attempted murder in connection with the mass stabbing attack that occurred two days ago on a train heading to London, resulting in 11 people injured.

The British Transport Police announced that Anthony Williams is charged with ten counts of attempted murder, one count of actual bodily harm, and one count of possession of a bladed weapon. The police also announced charges against Williams for attempted murder related to a separate incident earlier that same day at the Pontoon Dock light rail station in London.

The police stopped two Britons and ruled out "terrorism" in the train stabbing incident heading to London. The police said that investigators "are looking into other possible related crimes" and confirmed that they are not treating the stabbings as a terrorist incident, and are not looking for other suspects.
A second man who was initially arrested as a suspect was released without charges after confirming that the 35-year-old man was not involved in the incident. Williams, a British citizen from Peterborough in eastern England, is scheduled to appear in court later today.

The stabbing incident, which lasted for minutes, caused fear and panic among the passengers on the train coming from Doncaster in northern England and heading to London. The train was about halfway through its journey and had just left a station in Peterborough when the police began receiving reports of people being stabbed onboard.
Williams was arrested when the train made an emergency stop in the town of Huntingdon in eastern England. The police said that he was detained within 8 minutes of receiving the first emergency calls, and 11 people were taken to the hospital, among them a crew member who is still in a critical but stable condition.
