Khaberni - In a shocking incident that shook public opinion in America, authorities in Kansas charged a former news anchor, named Angelin Mook "47 years old", with first-degree premeditated murder after she was accused of stabbing her elderly mother to death inside the family home in Wichita, on Friday, coinciding with Halloween night, also known as "Fright Night."
According to the "New York Post," the police center received a report about a bloody incident inside a residential home in the city of Wichita. Upon the arrival of the police, the accused was found outside the home covered in blood, while her mother, Anita Avers, who was 80 years old, was found unconscious in her bedroom, with multiple stab wounds on her body.
The mother was transported to the hospital, but she lost her life just half an hour later, succumbing to her serious injuries. Meanwhile, the accused newscaster was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for lacerations on her hands before being detained in the county jail, where bail was set at one million dollars, pending further investigations.
According to eyewitnesses, the accused came out of her house in the morning covered in blood, seeking help from neighbors.
Angelin Mook previously worked as an anchor and news reporter on a local television channel in Saint Louis, between 2011 and 2015, before she left the media field and moved into sales, then to a major software company, where she was working until the moment of her arrest.
The accused is described as having been beloved and successful in her work, but in recent years she began to gradually isolate herself from her social circle, according to her neighbors and former colleagues.
The late Anita Avers was a specialist in family therapy and psychological counseling, working at a family counseling center in Wichita, known in the local community for her love of goodness and for helping couples and families going through psychological or social problems. Her neighbors described her as a quiet and humble woman who dedicated her life to serving others.
