Khaberni - Nine-year-old Amayra died after falling from the fourth floor of the Neerja Modi private school in Jaipur, India, in an incident that caused widespread shock among parents and sparked a debate about safety standards in educational institutions.
Surveillance camera footage obtained by the police showed the girl climbing over the railing before falling approximately 48 feet, while some of her classmates were nearby, resulting in fatal injuries including a skull fracture and multiple internal fractures that led to her death upon arrival at the hospital.
The police confirmed that the scene captured by the surveillance cameras provided key evidence of what happened, despite school staff attempting to clean the accident site with water before the police arrived, prompting the forensic team to collect blood traces from the ground and walls.
The police added that the school staff reached the ground floor after hearing the girl's scream, but her injuries were very critical.
The girl's father has filed a case against the school management, accusing them of negligence and demanding an investigation into the role of the teachers and staff, while the education office noted the school's lack of cooperation with the authorities, as the director's representative did not respond to any official calls.
The Parents' Association in Rajasthan demanded an investigation into alleged harassment cases against the girl before her death, indicating possible attempts to destroy evidence, and called for strict measures against those responsible.
