Khaberni - The passenger movement (arrivals, departures, transit) through all the Kingdom's airports increased in the second quarter of this year compared to the same quarter of the previous year, by 4% from 2,254,817 million passengers to 2,346,947 million passengers.
The performance indicators for the air transport sector issued by the Ministry of Transport, concerning aircraft movement, passenger movement, and cargo and mail movement through all the Kingdom's airports during the second quarter of this year compared to the second quarter of last year, showed that the aircraft movement both arriving and departing through all the Kingdom's airports increased from 20,977 aircraft to 21,503 aircraft, with a rate of (2%)
Furthermore, statistics on the development of performance indicators for the second quarter of this year, compared to the second quarter of the previous year, for the air transport sector at Queen Alia International Airport showed a significant decrease in the number of arriving aircraft, dropping to 9392 aircraft from 9456, with a rate of 68%, and the number of departing aircraft decreased from 9467 to 9413 aircraft, with a rate of 57%.
The outgoing cargo movement decreased by 34.32% from 6,206 tons to 4,076 tons, and the incoming cargo movement decreased from 12,877 tons to 11,853 tons, by 7.95%.
The statistics also showed a decrease in outgoing mail movement from 111 tons to 82 tons, by 25.94%, and in incoming mail movement from 181 tons to 153 tons, by 15.64%.
The performance indicators for the air transport sector at Amman International Airport (Marka) between the second quarter of the current year and the second quarter of last year showed a slight increase in the number of arriving aircraft (0.3%), from 364 to 365 arriving aircraft, while the number of departing aircraft decreased slightly (0.81%) from 369 to 366 departing aircraft.
At King Hussein International Airport, the performance indicators of the air transport sector between the second quarter of the current year and the second quarter of last year showed an increase in the number of arriving aircraft from 671 to 985 arriving aircraft, by 4.8%, and the number of departing aircraft increased from 670 to 982 aircraft, by 46.57%.
The number of arriving passengers increased from 33,127 to 41,551 passengers, by 25.43%. However, the number of departing passengers decreased from 35,304 to 33,308 passengers, by 5.65%.
The outgoing cargo dropped dramatically from 9,858 tons to 0.090 tons, by an immense 99.09%, while the incoming cargo rose from 11,259 tons to 56,813 tons, by more than 404%.
