Khaberni - Bayern Munich officials are dealing with the future of veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer cautiously, seeing no urgency in extending his contract.
At the club's general assembly yesterday, Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said: "There is much that can be said in favor of Manuel Neuer, but we want to focus on the sporting aspects at this moment. We've said the same in other cases with other players."
Dreesen added, "Manuel is under no pressure whatsoever, and we will talk when the time is right."
Neuer, who will turn forty next year, has been Bayern's primary goalkeeper since 2011.
Neuer’s contract ends in June 2026, but there is ongoing speculation about whether he will play another season for Bayern.
Bayern is ready if Neuer decides to retire, as backup goalkeeper Jonas Urbig has performed well when needed to replace Neuer. Meanwhile, Alexander Nubel and Daniel Berets, who are currently loaned out, are other future options.
