Khaberni - Egyptian media figure Amr Adib hinted at the approaching end of his media career, indicating that he is currently living his last months in television work, during his last episode of the program "Al Hekaya" last Sunday.
Adib mentioned that he is in an advanced stage in his media career, saying: "I am in my last years or months in the media work, whether people love me or hate me, I have given everything that can be given, I've reached unprecedented numbers in viewership and broadcast hours, and I might enter the Guinness World Records for the number of hours I've spent on air, not only in Egypt but globally."
Adib's statements came in response to the criticisms directed at him due to his continuous celebration over the past week of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, where he clarified that he did not intend to exaggerate the coverage, but wanted to share the Egyptians' joy with an unprecedented civilizational achievement.
He added, saying: "When I talk about the Grand Egyptian Museum, I am talking about a greatness unparalleled in the world, about a civilization that no country can match. Some were annoyed because I talked a lot about the Pharaohs and the antiquities, but trust me after two days everyone will forget all that, and we return to politics and everyday problems."
And Adib continued sarcastically: "When I criticize, they say that I am distorting the image, and when I praise, they say I am flattering, so what do the people want? Amr Adib is not looking for a trend, he is the trend himself. I just want to present material that makes people happy and feel proud."
He concluded his talk with a humorous message to his audience, saying: "This great museum was made by you and you paid the price for it, so let me celebrate with you a little.. Last week I offered you a dose of pride and happiness, but don’t worry, next week I promise to return to the usual grievances."
